Snowman Candy Holder using Stylin' Snowfolk from Stampin' Up! and my Big Shot

Good Morning My Stamping Friends! 

I'm stopping in to share another little project I made to sell at my Stampin' Up! booth at the craft fairs this season. These cute little snowman candy holders are just perfect for leaving a little treat for a school teacher, mail carrier, bus driver, Mr. Brown (ha ha ha ....for all the non-demos reading this, that means the UPS Man), pet sitter, Sunday School teacher, bank teller or grocery store worker. They are so easy to make you can share one with everybody.

I recently joined Pinterest and this was something I saw on there that I just had to duplicate. I used the Two Tags die and my Big Shot for the snowman base and I used the modern label punch and the curly label punch for his hat. To make the snowman face and the buttons on his belly I pulled out my Stylin' Snowfolk stamp set. I finished him off with a 3/8 inch stitched satin ribbon in gumball green as his scarf, stuck the kit-kats inside and sealed it up.  It was so easy to make. Give it a try!

Gift Card Holders using Scentsational Seasons, Watercolor Winter and Jolly Bingo Bits from Stampin' Up!

Well, I was on a roll with my personal blog challenge of posting every weekday in December but that all went kaflooey when one of my little lassies got a tummy bug for TWO FULL DAYS which brought us to the pediatricians and then to the ER. Poor girl was so sick. She is all better now but everyday life seemed to take over (meaning: making things to sell at craft fairs, showing all my Hispanic friends at the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Holiday Party how to stamp with all our wonderful Stampin' Up! products - photos of that coming soon - a belated anniversary celebration of sharing a delicious dinner and theatre tickets with my in-laws, my oldest daughter's school band concert, Holiday parties and oh yeah, several days of NO EMAIL since I use cox.net and their whole system across the US was down! Whew thats a lot of stuff. ) . Soooo, my challenge has changed a little bit but the end result will still be the same for you. Instead of posting every weekday in December, I'm going to post 21 times this month (which equals out to one post every weekday in December). This means that I'll be posting more than once a day so come visit often and you'll see lots of Christmas stuff that I've been working on.

One thing I worked on this week was fulfilling some orders I received at a craft show. I made gift tags, candy holders and gift card holders. The gift card holders were so much fun. I made lots of different kinds as you can see. I used Scentsational Seasons, Watercolor Winter and Jolly Bingo Bits from Stampin' Up! for the gift card holders pictured here.

I even made my own designer series cardstock. I needed the thickness of the cardstock but wanted the look of Designer Series Paper so I just went ahead and made my own. Sooooo much fun. You can do 'random stamping' like I did on the Christmas Tree or pointsettia cardstock, or you can so a specific pattern like I did on the candy cane, gingerbread man and hot cocoa cardstock.  So, which one is your favorite? Oh, if you're trying to copy mine exactly, keep in mind that in this photo my cardstock is already cut to the size I needed for this project.

Here is a photo of the inside of the project. I attached a folded envelope (which created two pockets) to the inside of my hand stamped designer series cardstock. In the pockets I placed two little decorated blank cards where you could write a note and attach a gift card. I finished it off with a belly band to keep everything inside.

Fussy Cut Watercolor Winter Christmas Card with More Merry Messages from Stampin' Up!

Hello there My Stamping Friends, I'm keeping up with my December Daily Posting Challenge so today I'm sharing a card I made using the Watercolor Winter and the More Merry Messasges stamp sets from Stampin' Up!

I really enjoyed making this card because it was so fun, simple, quick and gets a big reaction when you give it away.  I started with half a sheet of confetti cream cardstock and stamped several pointsettia's from Watercolor Winter, along the short edge (making sure that you could see the whole flower along the right side of the cardstock). I stamped the outline of the pointsettia in cherry cobbler and the inside of the petals in real red. Once those were stamped I grabbed my snips and cut along the outside edge of the pointsettias (hence the name 'fussy cutting').

Next I chose a sentiment from More Merry Messages and stamped that in the 'center' of the front of the card. Once the sentiment was stamped I could stamp the rest of the pointsettias to frame the sentiment. Next I used gumball green and old olive to stamp the pine branches just on the edge of the inside of the card so you could still see it when the card was closed.

The cutting is what took the most time and I'd say that took less than a minute. The whole card took probably 5 minutes and I really like how it came out. So, what do you think? Gingerbread Man Spinner card using Scentsational Seasons from Stampin' Up!

Happy December My Stamping Friends! I LOVE this time of year, its getting colder outside (well, not today since its heading to 70 degrees in Northern VA!) and the anticipation of Christmas is so much fun. I LOVE making Christmas cards and sending them off to friends and family.

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my stamp club this month. Its a Spinner Card made with the gingerbread man from Scentsational Seasons stamp set from Stampin' Up!.

My card base is gumball green and I used the Stampin' Up! Be of Good Cheer designer series paper for the first layer. I used a layer of very vanilla and then added a layer of cherry cobbler on dimensionals to give it some lift (in order to make the gingerbread man spin, more on that later on). I stamped the sentiment from the Come to Bethlehem stamp set. On a seperate piece of very vanilla cardstock, I stamped the gingerbread man from Scentsational Seasons and cut him out using the coordinating Holiday Collection framelits dies and my Big Shot.

To make the gingerbread man spin, I stuck two pennies together using a dimensional and slid that on the 'track' I punched out with my word window punch. Then I used a dimensional to attach the gingerbread man to the penny stack and away he went. I think this photo might help explain what I just tried to describe.

I topped my gingerbread man off with some basic rhinestones colored with a red sharpie marker (did you know you can color the Stampin' Up! basic rhinestones with sharpie markers??) and I stuck them where his buttons were. Since the rhinestones have a sticky back, they were so easy to add.

The card took less than 10 minutes to make and is a big WOW for kids and adults that haven't see a card spin before. Give it a try and let me know what you end up with. I'd love to check out your creations. Meanwhile, leave some love in the comment section on my blog. It always makes my day.

Candy Cane Christmas card using Scentsational Season and More Merry Messages from Stampin' Up!

Happy NOVEMBER to My Stamping Friends!! I can't believe how time is flying by and Christmas is almost upon us. I know I haven't posted lately but I'll tell you that I HAVE been spending lots of time in the stamp room and lots of time at local craft fairs.

Today I'm sharing a quick and fun card from my November Holiday Stamp-A-Stack. This one was so simple and all my stamping friends loved it. I used the Scentsational Season and More Merry Messages from Stampin' Up!

I started by using the Scallop Trim Border on both sides of the whisper white card stock layer. Then I used real red ink and stamped the candy cane image and the sentiment, centering that on the cardstock. I attached that layer to the card base and I was finished.

Goodie Bag using Deseos Pequenitos and the Snow Flurry Bigz Die for the Bigshot from Stampin' Up!

Hi there My Stampin' Friends, I'm trying something new today. I'm posting via e-mail
for the first time. I hope it works! 

 

Today I'm sharing a treat bag I made with a white mini lunch sack and the Northern Flurry
Embossing Folder. I sponged with a dauber to enhance the snowflakes on the bag and then I
used some marina mist cardstock and some silver glimmer paper to cut snowflakes with the
Snow Flurry Bigz Die for the Bigshot.  I added a sentiment from the Deseos Pequenitos stamp
set. Finally, I added some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz and some of the basic rhinestones to
 jazz it up a bit. This will be going to one of my local Stamping Friends since they know what
snowflakes are all about and have experienced quite a few of them around here the past few winters.

Make & Take from Hispanic Night Event at the Stampin' Up! Convention

Hello My Stamping Friends, I hope you're having a fantastic day like I am.

I've been busy preparing for a Stampin' Up! workshop I have tomorrow but I wanted to share something with you all today so I'm making a quick post today of a Make & Take project from at the Hispanic Night event at the Stampin' Up! Convention in July.

Isn't it great? We made a little gift bag using Primrose Petals and Pool Party card stock and the Quinceanera stamp set. We added dimension with one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack and we jazzed it up with some Silver Glimmer Paper and some Basic Rhinestones.

It was originally created with a sentiment on the front but since I didn't know who I was going to give this to, I just left that off. Once I decide which lucky friend is going to get it, I'll probably grab a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, or the spanish version Deseos Pequenitos.

Sweet Treat gift bag using Wonderfall by Stampin' Up!

Good Morning My Stamping Friends,  It is pouring rain here so I spent some time this morning in my stamp room getting creative with the Wonderfall stamp set, the coordiating Autumn Accents Bigz die and Woodgrain embossing folder for the Big Shot and the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit all by Stampin' Up! and I came up with this:

I used a glassine bag from the Ghoulish Goodlies Designer Kit and I ran it through my Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder. I used my chocolate chip ink pad and the direct to paper technique to color the wood grain (look at both photos and you can see the diffrerence in the embossed and debossed side. You can choose to decorate the side you like better since you'll emboss all the sides of this bag). I then cut out some very vanilla leaves with the Autumn Accents Bigz die and set them to the side. I grabbed my Wonderfall stamp set and used the Rock-n-Roll technique to color the leaves. Cool, right?! After I attached the leaves to the bag, I added a fork bow with the gumball green 3/8th inch stitched satin ribbon. The Sweet Treats sentiment came from Teeny Tiny Wishes and was cut out and layered with the modern label punch and the word window punch.

This was such an easy and quick project so altered the look and I made a few more with mini brown lunch bags that I bought at my local bulk store. I think my girl's school teachers and office staff are going to love these.

A Fall Birthday card using Stampin' Up!'s Core'dinations cardstock, Sanding System and the Big Shot

Wow, I can't believe it's been sooooo long since I've posted. The end of summer was so busy with my little lasses and traveling that I was just enjoying my time with them before they all went off to school.  But that doesn't mean I wasn't stamping....I just wasn't blogging. Now that they are all at school, I've been enjoying my time in my craft room and here I am to post a project from the other day.

Yesterday was my darling hubby's birthday and he had to go on a business trip. I only got to see him for a few moments that morning but I had to make sure he had a card before he left on his trip. So, I made this card and had the girls sign it for him before they went to bed just so it was ready and waiting for him in the morning.

So, what do you think? I started with a Stampin' Up! crumb cake base and a layer of the new Core'dinations card stock in Early Espresso. I ran that through the big shot using the new Woodgrain textured embossing folder. I sanded with the Stampin' Sanding Block and was completlely blown away by the awesome Core'dinations Dust Buddy as it picked up every piece of dust and debris I made using the sanding system. I then wrapped a piece of Pool Party Seam Binding around that layer. I went back to my beloved Big Shot and cut out the largest leaf using the Autumn Accents Bigz Die. I markered the Tweet Leaves stamp and put my image directly on the leaf that I cut out and then I adhered it to the card layer with Stampin' Dimensionals. I finished up the card with a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes cut out and layered with the Word Window Punch and the Modern Label Punch.

Faux Triple Time Stamping using Affection Collection stamp set and more from Stampin' Up!

Good Morning My Stamping Friends,  I've seen this Triple Time Stamping technique floating around for a while so I thought I'd give it a try. I made two cards (which I'll post soon) but they came out a little bulky and I wondered if it might cost extra to mail it. A few days ago I saw my card sitting on my desk next to my Big Shot and I got a fantastic idea....or at least I think its a fantastic idea. Today I finally got a chance to try out my idea and I sorta like the way it turned out.

For those that havent heard of the Triple Time Stamping technique I tracked it back to Dawn Olchefske so you can google the technique and see a few tutorial videos. For my FAUX Triple Time Stamping technique I wanted a similiar look with not so much bulk soooooooooo, I pulled out my handy dandy Big Shot and my Labels Collection Framelits. The photo below shows how I cut my frames.

I used the smallest 4 framelits (the collection comes with 6) on a 1/4 sheet of black cardstock to make my 'layers'. Once I ran that through the Big Shot I had three frames (and a center piece). I used the largest and smallest of the black cardstock frames on my card. This eliminates the three layers but still has the same look so I'm calling it the FAUX Triple Time Stamping technique.

To make the white layer of the card I cut a piece of whisper white cardstock with the 5th largest framelet (the one that is just a bit bigger than the one shown above). I used the new Stampin' Up! In Color inkpad called Raspberry Ripple along with Crumb Cake ink. The stamp set is the Affection Collection stamp set that I received FREE with my 2012 Convention Attendance. After I stamped and sponged my main card layer I used snail to adhere the two black frames. I added a few basic pearls to the image, added a sentiment using the Modern Label Punch and finished it up with a linen thread bow.

Howdy My Stamping Friends,  Today I'm sharing a card I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) straight from Stampin' Up! . I used the Reason to Smile stamp set that is only available for a few more days (till July 31st).

What do you think? It was so easy to make. I used Tangerine Tango as my base color and Pool Party, Tangerine Tango and Calypso Coral for the Two Step Stampin of the flowers. I used a retired punch, the Eyelet Border punch, because I thought it coordinated better with the polka dots on the very vanilla layer. Speaking of those polka dots, I made them with my Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and my Big Shot. A sentiment and little linen thread bow and the card is complete.

Christmas in July - Create handmade Stampin' Up! holiday cards

It’s that time of year again. Time to start making your Holiday or Christmas Cards** so you can have them all ready to mail out in December.

In this Stampin' Up! Holiday Stamp-a-Stack class you will make 12 Christmas/Holiday cards** (4 cards each of 3 different designs). If you come to all 6 Christmas Card classes scheduled you’ll have 72 cards ready to be mailed in plenty of time to get to your loved ones by the holidays.

End of School Teacher Gifts (Gift Cards, Punch Art Frog and Pencil Holder)

Wow, I can't believe its been so long since I've posted on my blog. June was a busy month around here with a graduating 6th grader, a graduating preschooler,  graduation parties, end of year parties for all the kids, camps starting, and much more. I did get to create some teacher gifts that I promised I'd share so here goes. Enjoy!
Our class decided to give a plant to our teachers and if we wanted to, we could give gift cards in decorated envelopes. The envelopes were put into the plant on floral wire and were supposed to look like flowers. I might have taken the theme literally, but they were so cute I couldn't stop, so several teachers got gift card envelopes like these.

 Here I used some retired Designer Series Paper and the retired 5 petal flower punch

This set used the Stampin' Up! Simply Scrappin' Kit, the retired 5 petal flower punch, the retired fancy flower punch, the 1-3/4 scallop circle, the 1-1/4 circle and the 1/2 inch circle.

I used the scallop envelope die and the Big Shot to cut the envelopes. The envelopes are normally a little too small to fit a regular sized gift card so I folded the paper in half and left three scallops uncovered when I cut the paper.

This makes the envelope longer and voila, it now fits a gift card.

One of the teachers is very fond of frogs and she has a frog as her classroom mascot so of course I had to make her gift card envelopes frog themed.

Too cute, right??

My youngest was graduating preschool and she is going to a different elementary school than most of her classmates so she gave pencils to her classmates so they could start kindergarten with a memory of her. This is what we made for all her preschool classmates and teachers as a graduation gift. Pink for girls and blue for boys.

 I used the owl from the retired Stampin' Up! set called Go, Graduate and punched it out with the cirle and scallop circle punches. A little 1/8 taffeta daffodil delight ribbon and it was finished.

Today I'm stamping with my brand new goodies from the new Holiday Mini Catalog to create projects for my Christmas/Holiday Stamp a Stacks. I hold one of these each month starting in July and running through December. When you come to the class you'll make 12 cards (4 each of 3 different designs) and if you come to all the classes you'll have 72 cards ready to send out or give away just in time for the Christmas Holiday Season.
