Thinking of You layout challenge with Stampin' Up!'s Secret Garden and Print Poetry DSP stack

Hello there My Stamping Friends!! I was in a bit of a stamping slump the other day and it seemed like nothing I made was 'working' for me. I guess my mind was less on stamping and more on my almost-done stamp space. So, I gave up went to facebook to see what my friends were up to and the first post I saw was from SUDSOL and it was a layout challenge. That was as good a place as any to start so I went back to my desk and used that layout challenge and ended up a card that looked like ......

Its my floral Thinking Of You card. I know you can't see how glittery and shimmery it is in this photo so I tried to take a side view photo so you can get an idea.

What do you think? Its not 100% my style per se, but I do really like it and it got me out of my stamping slump. And with the card done I could get to work on cleaning, moving, reorganizing my stamping space.  If I hadn't mentioned, I'm taking over our 12x25 basement as my stamping area. I'm sooooo excited about it and even though today it still looks like a wreck I know that we'll be having stamp club in there THIS WEEKEND so I've got to get some serious work done. My work desk has been installed. I have a station for my Big Shots (just need to get some shelves for all my dies) and my Stampin' Score tools, and a cutting station for when I'm prepping for my bigger events (speaking of which, the next Crop Weekend at the Dunn Loring Volunteer Fire Department is February 22 & 23. The registration form and list of optional classes are posted on the website www.dlvfrd.org  and the date for my Open House will be posted soon). In my new space I have room for tables and chairs for my stamping friends, but I have to go pick them out and purchase them. Yikes, so much more to do.

Anyway, enough about that. For this project I used, the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper stack, Secret Garden, circle punch, blender pen, midnight muse ink, basic pearls, a retired eyelet border punch, shimmer paint and stampin' spritzer,

Have you been in a stamping slump before? How did you get out of it?

Stampin' Up! gives you a great Reason to Smile for a few more days

Howdy My Stamping Friends,  Today I'm sharing a card I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) straight from Stampin' Up! . I used the Reason to Smile stamp set that is only available for a few more days (till July 31st).

What do you think? It was so easy to make. I used Tangerine Tango as my base color and Pool Party, Tangerine Tango and Calypso Coral for the Two Step Stampin of the flowers. I used a retired punch, the Eyelet Border punch, because I thought it coordinated better with the polka dots on the very vanilla layer. Speaking of those polka dots, I made them with my Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and my Big Shot. A sentiment and little linen thread bow and the card is complete.

If you like the Reason to Smile stamp set, you are still able to get it for a few more days with the Reason to Smile promotion. The basics are that you can get the Reason to Smile stamp set for ONLY $5 till the end of July. Here is the flyer with all of the details.

You can place your order online at www.roseelleneastman.stampinup.net or you can call me and I'll place the order for you.

Have a wonderful day,
Rose-Ellen

Stampin' Up! Catalog CASE - Small Scallop Oval Punch Technique & Awash with Flowers

Good Morning My Stamping Friends, Today I'm going to show you a card that I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) almost exactly from the current Stampin' Up! Idea Book and catalog (page 174). I changed the sentiment up a bit and I wanted to show you how I got a small scallop oval.

Here is my card (the supply list is at the end of the post).

The card in the catalog used the scallop oval punch but since I changed my sentiment I felt that the scallop oval punch was too large. So, I stamped my sentiment on whisper white and punched it out with our small oval punch. I then took a piece of melon mambo and punched out a scallop oval. The proportions just weren't right and to fix it I needed a smaller scallop oval. Lately I've seen a lot of punching shapes from other punched shapes so I decided to give that a try. I punched the scallop and then put it back into the punch so I could only see 7 scallops, and I punched again. Those directions are probably as clear as mud so here is a photo of what I'm describing.

What do you think? I hope you like the card. Leave a comment and let me know. Now I want to see you CASE a card from one of our current Stampin' Up! catalogs. Let me know where you post a photo of it and I'll visit and leave a comment.

Hopefully I'll see you at my Open House this Friday. Visit my webpage calendar at http://www.roseelleneastman.stampinup.net/ where you can RSVP for the event.

Have a great day,
Rose-Ellen

New products in use in my studio.....

Hi there My Stamping Friends, I'm still here and full of creative inspiration. I had a little time yesterday while my little birthday princess napped so I had time to create a card for a very special friend. I don't want to say anymore or she won't be surprised when she gets the card in the mail. Here is my creation.

I used products and supplies from the brand new 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. I used the Level 1 Hostess set Because I Care and stamped on the new DSP Newsprint using versamark and heat embossed it with black embossing powder. I colored the flower with the Pear Pizzazz and the Blushing Bride ink using an aqua painter. I sponged the Newsprint DSP with Pear Pizzazz and attached it to a Basic Black layer. I made a 'ribbon' using the in-color Blushing Bride cardstock, the eyelet border punch and the crimper. Finally I attached it to the Pear Pizzazz base to finish it off.

Hope you enjoy it,

Rose-Ellen
