New Stampers in my Stampin' Studio learning about Stampin' Up! and making a Thank You card with Festive Flurry and Another Thank You stamp sets

Good Morning My Stamping Friends, I hope you're having a great day so far.  I know I am.  I'm still on an adrenaline high from having some fun, new stampers in my Stampin' Studio last night. These ladies hadn't heard of Stampin' Up! until they met me and they came over to see what it was all about. They were so enthusiastic and seemed pretty intrigued by all the creative card making going on and we all had a blast.

For this Thank You card we started with a Pacific Point card base and a white layer on the front. We inked the larger snowflake stamp from Festive Flurry in Soft Sky ink and stamped that first. Next the smaller snowflake as well as the Thank You stamp from Another Thank You photopolymer stamp set, was stamped in Pacific Point ink. We trimmed the edge of the white layer with the Scallop Trim Border punch and attached the white layer to the front of the card. It was that simple. A little snowflake stamp on the front of the envelope and voila, we were finished. This is a card you can make in assembly line fashion while you're sitting in front of the TV. I might re-work this card, put my gaggle of girls to work in the craft room and turn this into my Christmas card this year.  Do you like this card as much as I do? Since they hadn't heard of Stampin' Up! Before and didn't know what they were in for I started with a CAS (clean and simple) Thank You cards. You can certainly change the sentiment and turn this into any kind of card you'd like but these ladies were here to make Thank You cards for a specific reason. You see these ladies are business owners and entrepreneurs. I'm encouraging each of them to stand out in their customer service arena by making and sending out handmade personalized cards to their clients. These handmade cards are also great for prospective clients as well as reaching out to customers you might not have heard from in a while. When you're making cards for a large group you need to make them clean, simple and easily duplicatable and this card fit the bill. The ladies loved how easy this card was to make, how crisp the Stampin' Up! Images were and how the ink and paper coordinated so well.....and I loved sharing what I love! I was definitely a win-win!

Halloween Card and Scrapbook Layout with Stampin' Up! Framelits

Happy Halloween My Stamping Friends,

Today I'm sharing two Stampin' Up! Halloween Projects with you that feature the Big Shot and Framelits. The first is a Halloween Card featuring a Witch's Dress and Hat.

I started with a black card base and I used the retired Stampin' Up! Embossing folder called Lacy Brocade on the pumpkin pie layer. The dress was cut with the Dress Up Framelits and snipped at the arms and hem to show a tattered look. The hat was made with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and snipped along the bottom edge. I used the new silver 1/8th inch ribbon from the Holiday Catalog to accent the dress and hat. The bats were so easy and so much fun to make and were cut with the butterfly punch by just snipping out just a sliver of the wing portion of the punch....easy peasy. Basic Rhinestone accents dressed up the whole card. 

The second project is a very simple 2 page Halloween scrapbook layout that I taught at my Scrapbook Club at the local middle school. This week the kids learned about how to use my Framelits and their imagination to make different shapes.

We used the Labels Collection Framelits and the retired Ornament Framelits to make ghost shapes. We also used one of the pieces from the Apothecary Accents Framelits set to make tombstones. With a square punch and we were able to personalize the tombstones to say whatever we wanted.

Gingerbread Man Spinner card using Scentsational Seasons from Stampin' Up!

Happy December My Stamping Friends! I LOVE this time of year, its getting colder outside (well, not today since its heading to 70 degrees in Northern VA!) and the anticipation of Christmas is so much fun. I LOVE making Christmas cards and sending them off to friends and family.

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my stamp club this month. Its a Spinner Card made with the gingerbread man from Scentsational Seasons stamp set from Stampin' Up!.

My card base is gumball green and I used the Stampin' Up! Be of Good Cheer designer series paper for the first layer. I used a layer of very vanilla and then added a layer of cherry cobbler on dimensionals to give it some lift (in order to make the gingerbread man spin, more on that later on). I stamped the sentiment from the Come to Bethlehem stamp set. On a seperate piece of very vanilla cardstock, I stamped the gingerbread man from Scentsational Seasons and cut him out using the coordinating Holiday Collection framelits dies and my Big Shot.

To make the gingerbread man spin, I stuck two pennies together using a dimensional and slid that on the 'track' I punched out with my word window punch. Then I used a dimensional to attach the gingerbread man to the penny stack and away he went. I think this photo might help explain what I just tried to describe.

I topped my gingerbread man off with some basic rhinestones colored with a red sharpie marker (did you know you can color the Stampin' Up! basic rhinestones with sharpie markers??) and I stuck them where his buttons were. Since the rhinestones have a sticky back, they were so easy to add.

The card took less than 10 minutes to make and is a big WOW for kids and adults that haven't see a card spin before. Give it a try and let me know what you end up with. I'd love to check out your creations. Meanwhile, leave some love in the comment section on my blog. It always makes my day.

Goodie Bag using Deseos Pequenitos and the Snow Flurry Bigz Die for the Bigshot from Stampin' Up!

Hi there My Stampin' Friends, I'm trying something new today. I'm posting via e-mail
for the first time. I hope it works! 

 

Today I'm sharing a treat bag I made with a white mini lunch sack and the Northern Flurry
Embossing Folder. I sponged with a dauber to enhance the snowflakes on the bag and then I
used some marina mist cardstock and some silver glimmer paper to cut snowflakes with the
Snow Flurry Bigz Die for the Bigshot.  I added a sentiment from the Deseos Pequenitos stamp
set. Finally, I added some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz and some of the basic rhinestones to
 jazz it up a bit. This will be going to one of my local Stamping Friends since they know what
snowflakes are all about and have experienced quite a few of them around here the past few winters.

Make & Take from Hispanic Night Event at the Stampin' Up! Convention

Hello My Stamping Friends, I hope you're having a fantastic day like I am.

I've been busy preparing for a Stampin' Up! workshop I have tomorrow but I wanted to share something with you all today so I'm making a quick post today of a Make & Take project from at the Hispanic Night event at the Stampin' Up! Convention in July.

Isn't it great? We made a little gift bag using Primrose Petals and Pool Party card stock and the Quinceanera stamp set. We added dimension with one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack and we jazzed it up with some Silver Glimmer Paper and some Basic Rhinestones.

It was originally created with a sentiment on the front but since I didn't know who I was going to give this to, I just left that off. Once I decide which lucky friend is going to get it, I'll probably grab a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, or the spanish version Deseos Pequenitos.

So, what do you think? Cute, right?

Stampin' Up! Festive and Fun; Christmas Stamp-a-Stack Card

Its amazing what Silver Tinsel Trim will do.....

Hi there My Stamping Friends, Today I'm jumping ahead a little bit and I'm sharing two Christmas Card I recently made. First I made a very simple card inspired by a card that I saw online, and then I jazzed up my first verion a bit. The first version is fine, but isn't it amazing what a little Silver Tinsel Trim will do. What do you think?

For these cards I used: Bashful Blue for the card base and ran it through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dot impression folder. I stamped the ornament in real red ink on whisper white cardstock and punched it out using the ornament punch. I used Candy Cane Christmas designer series paper to dress up the bottom of the card. Teeny Tiny Wishes is my current go-to set for sentiments and I used it here with the Modern label punch and some real red sponging around the edges. I dressed up the ornament with Basic Rhinestones and on version #2 I used some Silver Tinsel Trim on top of the ornament.
