New products in use in my studio.....

Hi there My Stamping Friends, I'm still here and full of creative inspiration. I had a little time yesterday while my little birthday princess napped so I had time to create a card for a very special friend. I don't want to say anymore or she won't be surprised when she gets the card in the mail. Here is my creation.




I used products and supplies from the brand new 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. I used the Level 1 Hostess set Because I Care and stamped on the new DSP Newsprint using versamark and heat embossed it with black embossing powder. I colored the flower with the Pear Pizzazz and the Blushing Bride ink using an aqua painter. I sponged the Newsprint DSP with Pear Pizzazz and attached it to a Basic Black layer. I made a 'ribbon' using the in-color Blushing Bride cardstock, the eyelet border punch and the crimper. Finally I attached it to the Pear Pizzazz base to finish it off.

A touch of inspiration..

I've been feeling very creatively inspired over the past few days and I've put that inspiration to work. Last night I worked on a card kit that will go to a little girl at her birthday party today. Once I pulled out my line art stamps (stamps that are just begging to be colored in) I had sooooo much fun. This is what stamping is about.


So, here is the kit that I ended up with:

I used some current stamps and some retired sets from my stash that I can't bear to part with (Side note: we are at the tail end of the ordering period for the Last Chance List. If there is something you want that is on the list, please order in today or tomorrow so you won't be sad on Thursday when you can't get the set anymore).

My supplies:
Pick a Petal stamp set, Simple Birthday Thanks stamp set, Time Well Spent (got that FREE from Stampin' Up! just for being a demonstrator), Loads of Love, Crayon Kids and Beary Best Friends . I also used several misc colors of card stock for the card bases, current and retired ribbons, and buttons. All in all I think a little girl would love to get this card kit. I KNOW I would.

I am looking for someone to host a workshop this weekend. (Last minute parties are often some of the BEST for gathering friends and having fun.) There are a few more little things I want to let you know about.
I have seen the new catalog and the price of the cardstock has gone up from $5.50 to $6.95 for a pack of 24 sheets of the same color cardstock. (Thought you might want to know just in case you want to stock up on colors that you know you use often).


Assorted packs of card stock have gone from 36 sheets to 20 sheets (due to the Color Renovation and each family now having 10 colors instead of 12) and have dropped from $7.95 to $6.95

Samples of some of the retiring sets

Hi there My Stamping Friends,

I thought you might want to see some samples made with a few of the retiring sets so I looked at my photos from the Stampin' Up! convention from last summer and found some. I took these photos from the display boards so I have no idea who made these cards. If one of them is yours please let me know and I'll happily give you credit.

There are only a few weeks left to get stamp sets from the Last Chance List so if you have something on your wish list that is on the Last Chance List, let me know as soon as possible.

This stamp set is a Level 2 Hostess set and is called Asian Artistry.

There are TWO retiring sets on this scrapbook page (sorry its so blurry). One is the Wild West Alphabet (#115112 $43.95) and the other is Card Games (#113202 $19.95).

This background stamp Tres Chic (#109258 $17.95) is retiring.

I'll be so sad to see Embrace Life (#114958 $25.95) go away. My Stamping Friends know that it was a favorite of mine......but I have to remember that even though I'll be sad when its gone in a few weeks, there will be more room for NEW STAMPS in our NEW CATALOG!

Just Jawing (111660 $25.95) only has a few weeks left before its gone for good.

The horse on this card comes from the set Wanted (#115106 $23.95) and it'll galloping away at the end of the month.

Scrapbooking and CardMaking Event this weekend at Dunn Loring Volunteer Fire Dept

Hi there My Stamping Friends, I want to remind you that we're having a crop this weekend at the Dunn Loring Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department located at
2148 Gallows Road, Dunn Loring, VA 22043

Event Dates & Times:
Friday, June 4, 2010 only - 6:00 pm to 12:00 pm ~ $30
