Stampin' Up! Christmas Card Ideas using Bright & Beautiful, Cheerful Christmas, Nature's Peace, and Nordic Noel

My Stamping Friends,

Check out the amazing projects posted by Stampin' Up! on their blog that were created by their Sr. Staff Writer, Cindy B.

If you’re a papercrafter, Christmas is probably one of your busiest times of the year. And I don’t know about you, but I pretty much want everything in this year’s holiday catalog . . . so deciding what to buy has become a serious problem for me! Is anyone else in the same boat?

For instance, I love the Nordic Noel Designer Series Paper house design—and thought it would make a cute focal point for a card. So I cut out a row of them and adhered them to a Whisper White Note Card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added a Real Red 3/8" Satin Woven Ribbon bow, a bit of Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine, and stamped the cute little “Merry Christmas” from the Holiday Home Stamp Set in Real Red ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Finally, I punched out the sentiment using the Large Oval Punch and adhered it to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. To me, this looks like Christmas!

Christmas_crb1

Then there’s the beautiful Nature’s Peace Stamp Set . Here’s what it looks like when you emboss it using VersaMark ink, Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, and the Heat Tool.

Christmas_crb2

Another gorgeous product from the holiday catalog is the Bright & Beautiful Stamp Set. I used it to make a fun neighbor gift package. (Tip: cut the top of a Petite Café Gift Bag using the Large Scallop Edgelits Die.)

Christmas_crb3

I used the same stamp set to create a tag that doubles as a Christmas tree ornament—and put it on one of our Takeout Boxes for a cute gift.

Christmas_crb4

Here’s a fast and easy card made using the adorable Cheerful Christmas Stamp Set.

Christmas_crb5

Last of all, check out this idea for a treat bag—again using that awesome Bright & Beautiful Stamp Set.

Pretty Packages by Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team

Good Morning My Stamping Friends, I hope you're doing well. Today I wanted to share a blog post from the Stampin' Up! website. It was written by Sarah Sagert who is one of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team members for 2014-2015. Aren't these packages soooooo cute! You can get all the supplies (listed below) on my website 24/7 at Http:/www.StampinUp.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=2016780

Enjoy,

Pretty Packages

I love giving gifts in pretty packages! It is definitely one of my trademarks. I love to present a gift to someone and watch their face light up when they see how pretty the packaging is! It’s like another gift in and of itself.Christmas is the perfect time to create some pretty packages! I decided to go with a Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, and Gold color combo. Yes—that’s right! Mix your whites and creams! You can achieve a layered look with your projects simply by using those two colors together.

The Takeout Boxes are darling! They are the perfect size for a small gift or box of yummy treats. I used the White Filter Paper to create a belly band around the box. I scrunched it up and sewed it down the middle to keep it gathered. I added some interest to my star die cut by using the Eclectic Paper-Piercing Pack to outline a few stars within the shape. This is an easy way to add detail.
SU Blog Post - Oct - Sarah Sagert_crb#3 Photo - Gift Card Box - Sarah Sagert
I used the Gift Card Enclosure Pack to create a little box. This technique was demonstrated to us at convention. Simply brilliant!! You score at 1/2" from the original score line along three sides. Secure the flaps using Sticky Strip and add a belly band to help contain your goodies. I used the Festive Designer Kraft Paper Rolls for my belly band. I LOVE these paper rolls! The quality is excellent—much thicker than I thought they would be.

My last pretty package was created using the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Die. This die creates the perfect little enclosure for a gift card. I used the Kraft Cardstock for my base and then I began creating a pretty belly band using the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper to keep it closed. The belly band simply slides on and off.

I love using the Kraft color as a base for my projects—especially for pretty packages!

Awesome Presenter line up for the My Stamping Friends' Northern Virginia Regional 8/23/2014 #NOVAStampingFriends

Can you believe these awesome presenters for the My Stamping Friends' Northern Virginia Regional on August 23,2014?!?!?  I'm posting them here for anyone that missed the announcements on my business facebook page.

Sallie Fisher has been a demonstrator since 1996….yup, 1996!  She hails from Pennsylvania but now lives in Mt. Jackson, VA. She considers herself a Clean and Simple stamper and has always been passionate about 3D items. At this event she will be presenting and demonstrating 3D items and gift items that are easy, fun and duplicatable.

Rita Lin is joining us from New Market, VA, where she grew up on a farm and where she still lives. Rita joined Stampin’ Up! in 2010 and says she’s an eclectic stamper. Sometimes she stamps ‘clean and simple’ but more often her projects are a little bit fussy. She LOVES to make 3D items and cards. Today she is sharing how to use the Big Shot to make a beautiful Bag Tag complete with a Spiral Flower.

Stephanie DiGiovanni is from Center Valley, PA and joined Stampin’ Up! in 2011. Stephanie considers herself a simple style stamper and she LOVES anything she can put through the Big Shot because she says “anyone can create easily, no matter what crafting experience they have.”  She loves Stampin’ Up! because they accept her, and everyone, with open arms & she loves the support, relationships and family she has made because of joining Stampin’ Up!

Lisa Key joined Stampin’ Up! in the spring of 2014 when she joined Stephanie’s team She has already promoted and grown her business and feels amazing about that. Lisa loves the card kits, the personalized stamps and everything that Stampin’ Up! has to offer. She’s coming to this event from Smith Mountain Lake, VA so let’s welcome her to the My Stamping Friends’ Northern Virginia Regional event.

Stephanie DiGiovanni and Lisa Key are co-presenters at this event. Together they make a great team and they are going to show us how they embodied the Stampin’ Up ! Statement of the Heart by sharing what they love with their friends & they’ll give you some ideas on how you can find more friends to stamp with too.

Melody Tess Rollins signed up to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in 2001. Her love for sending cards and gift-giving married both her graphic design skills and Stampin' Up! products perfectly. Melody Tess went from the simplicity of inks, stamps, and paper to currently loving embossing folders, punches, and Big Shot framelits & dies for quick projects in her 'simple elegance' style. "People are on the go all the time. I can show them that it really doesn't take very long to create awesome without leaving their home." Melody Tess happily and currently resides with her husband in Northern Virginia.

Michelle Suit joins us from Manassas, VA. She has been a demonstrator for 4 years and during that time she has gained quite a following for her punch art creations. She says she does the ‘”Stampin’ Happy Dance” when new punches and framelits are released because she loves using these things in new and innovative ways (ways they may not have been designed for), and honestly we love it when she does that too!  Michelle made her Stampin’ Up! Convention presentation debut in July 2014 when she presented at the annual convention on the Main Stage.

Shannon West joins us from Pleasant Grove, Utah where she has worked at the Stampin’ Up! corporate office for 10+ years as well as being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.  She is going to share some of her ‘favorite things’ with us including the Undefined Stamps, Four Feathers stamp set & Feathers Framelits Dies as well as Paper Pumpkin, and I just know you’re going to love everything she brings to the table.

You can find the details on my business page www.facebook.com/MyStampingFriends or on the My Stamping Friends' Northern Virginia Regional event page at www.facebook.com/events/312656428908181 or you can search for our hashtag #NOVAStampingFriends on Google, Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram to see lots of the photos of the event as they are posted by me and by the attendees.

Have a super fantastic day,

Stampin' Up! Oven Shaped Cupcake Holder with a BONUS Washing Machine (or Dryer) sample made with my Hispanic Stamping Friends in mind

Hidey-Ho My Stamping Friends,  Have you been enjoying spring so far? We have been having some AMAZING weather and I’ve been really enjoying it! If you've missed me here, you can always find me posting on my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/StampinUpWithRoseEllen ) to find out the latest news about what Stampin’ Up! is up to, what I’m up to, and what projects I’m working on.
Last weekend I went to Christina Crawford’s team meeting and presented a WOW demonstration. Everyone’s definition of a WOW is different so that always poses a challenge for me, plus by the time I’m done creating my WOW I’m often left with the thought that it’s not as cool or as WOW as I think it is. Anyway, I thought I’d show this awesome oven shaped cupcake holder I made for some of my daughter’s teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week and for the end of year gifts for the other teachers. The first time I saw this was at the Hispanic Market Booth at the Stampin’ Up! Convention and I KNEW I had to give it a try.  Here is what I came up with:
Stampin' Up! #Cupcake holder turned into an Oven and a WashingMachine
using Glimmer Paper, Buttons, Pearls, Blendabilites, Candle, BabySocks and more
#TeacherAppreciation #BabyShower #PartyFavor
#MyStampingFriends www.facebook.com/StampinUpWithRoseEllen

This is the first one I made:

using Glimmer Paper, Buttons, Pearls, Blendabilites, Candle, BabySocks and more
#TeacherAppreciation #BabyShower #PartyFavor
#MyStampingFriends www.facebook.com/StampinUpWithRoseEllen

I used the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalog for the dishcloths and burners. For the oven controls, I used the Large Basic Pearls and the Pearl Basic Jewels and colored them with my Blendabilities. That was SOOOOO easy and I can tell I’m going to be coloring a lot of accessories for my future projects.

And here is the next one.

#TeacherAppreciation #BabyShower #PartyFavor
#MyStampingFriends www.facebook.com/StampinUpWithRoseEllen
For this I changed the oven controls to a Silver Button from the Basic Metal Buttons and the Candy Dots Brad Bases. I also added a drawer front on this one.

And here is the last one I made.

#MyStampingFriends www.facebook.com/StampinUpWithRoseEllen
This one was made with my Hispanic Market Stamping Friends in mind. I turned the basic box on its side and made this into a Washing Machine or maybe its a Dryer. Instead of putting a candle inside, I used baby socks to make a cupcake shape. If I had the new Baby Themed framelits from the upcoming catalog, I would have strung some twine around the sides and back of the washing machine with a few onsies hung on it to decorate it.

I jazzed it up by making the cupcake holder insert from the Stampin’ Up! Glimmer Paper. I also used the Glimmer Paper for the door handle, a circle on the front of the dryer and as some sparkle for the dryer buttons.  I love the sparkle.
Do you want to give this a try? Here are some photos and measurements to help you out:

Measurements for #Cupcake holder turned into an #Oven and a #WashingMachine
#StampinUp #CardStock #TeacherAppreciation #BabyShower #PartyFavor
#MyStampingFriends www.facebook.com/StampinUpWithRoseEllen

Oven sides and top:  Cut a piece of cardstock to 9x6. Score in half at 3 inches and then turn and score at 3 and 6 inches. Along the 9 inch side, cut at 2 ½ and 6 ½ from the top to the center of the paper. Use my photo as a guide to see what parts to cut off.
Oven bottom and door:  Cut a piece of cardstock to 7x4 and score in half (at 3 ½ inches) Then score each side at ½ inch. Use my photo as a guide to see what parts to cut off. Cut out a window for the oven and attach this to the sides and top of the oven.

Insert  (cupcake holder):  Cut a 3-7/8th square and score each side at ½ inch. Snip a small ½ oval shape from each side as a finger pull. Cut a circle in the center of the square, for the cupcake to sit in. Adhere the 4 corners and you’re done.

Control Panel:  Cut a piece of cardstock to a 3 inch square. Score in half at 1 ½ inches and score again at ½ inch.  Attach sticky strip to the ½ inch area. Use the 2 ½ inch area as the control panel and the 3x1 ½ inch area gets attached to the back of the oven.

And here are a few more views.

I'm saying Goodbye to Stampin' Up!.........

...NO, NO NO, My Stamping Friends.....Not the way you think. I'm NOT going to stop being your demonstrator, but I am saying goodbye to some of my favorite Stampin' Up! stamp sets and accessories. Can you believe its that time of year already? Its time for the annual list of Retiring Stamp Sets and Retiring Accessories.

In case you didn’t see this posted on my business facebook page (www.facebook.com/StampinUpWithRoseEllen ) and in case you didn’t get the e-postcard that I sent out through my Stampin’ Up! website (let me know if you want to be on my email list) I thought I’d post the info here to catch you up on a few things.

·         The list of RETIRED STAMPS and RETIRED ACCESSORIES has been posted. This year EVERYTHING on these list is only available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST (usually the stamp sets are available until the end of the catalog, but this year they are ‘while supplies last’ as well) and believe it or not, some accessories and stamp sets are already SOLD OUT.  Every year I get an order for something from a client that I can’t fulfill because an item is sold out, so PLEASE take less than 5 minutes right now to check it over (even if you don’t think there is something you want or need) and get your orders in quickly. You can order online AND we are OFFERING FREE SHIPPING until 4/25 so items can be sent straight to your house.

·         There are several ways to see the lists of retiring items:

o   Here is a list of everything, with images of each item (Stamp sets AND accessories). You can shop there too!

o   Here is a PDF list of Retiring Stamps (available April 21- June 4, 2014, or WHILE SUPPLIES LAST)

·          You can also check out the WEEKLY DEALS when you visit  here  by clicking on WEEKLY DEALS on the left column

·         Are you an Digital Scrapbooker or CardMaker, check out our latest digital downloads for our digital scrapbooking program, My Digital Studio, and which can also be used in most any digital scrapbooking or clipart program you already own. Just click here.
Finally I want to make sure you’ve penciled in our Mother’s Day Weekend Scrapbooking and CardMaking event at the Dunn Loring Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department on May 9th and 10th.  You can bring all your own supplies and work on your projects or you can sign up for one of the classes I’m hosting, OR you can do both!  The final information will be posted in a few days.

I hope you’re having a wonderful day and let me know if you have any questions at all,

Rose-Ellen

Hi there My Stamping Friends,

I'm stopping in to catch you up on some posts I put on my business Facebook page but haven't yet posted on my blog. If you haven't heard yet, I'm hosting a Northern Virginia Stampin' Up! Style Regional Gathering on March 8th. I want to make this a fantastic event for all the attendees so I've put my head down and have been working pretty much non-stop on this event, and I'm so excited about how it's coming along.

Today I'm sharing the demonstrator presenters at our event:

Current Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Member Jennifer Timko has been a demonstrator  since October 2006 and she has loved every minute of it. She grew up in Orlando and moved all over while she was in the Air Force, until she settled in Warrenton, VA in 2001. While Jennifer has always loved Stampin' Up! Ribbons she has recently been falling in love with our punches and our Big Shot dies because they add so much WOW for such little effort. Jennifer is mostly a card maker. She does love MDS and the mechanics of #-d items but cards are her happy place. Her style is generally clean stamping. Not always simple, but she loves the clean lines and crisp layers. She also tries to add something special to each card to make it feel unique to the intended recipient. Being on the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team this year has been a highlight of her Stampin' Up! career and she feels its an amazing experience to be able to share what she loves making, with so many people. You can find her at StampinOnTheFly.com

I'm very happy and excited to share the news with you that the wonderful Sharon Cline is going to be presenting at the Northern Virginia Stampin' Up! Style Regional Event on March 8th. Sharon hails from Purcellville, VA after being born and raised in Vienna, West Virginia, and she became a demonstrator in February 2004 as a hobbiest. She very quickly was talked into hosting her own workshop in her home and after stamping with her best friends she discovered how much fun it was. It was no surprise to many that she attained the Stampin' Up! Rising Star status. Right now her favorite products are the Big Shot and the Envelope Punch Board. The Big Shot allows her to use the wonderful Stampin' Up! framelits, dies and embossing folders to create so many beautiful projects, and the envelope punch board puts a whole new spin on cards along with being able to make 66 different sized envelopes! While hosting her Stamp Camps Sharon teaches something new and different each time and that is how she discovered her untapped talent for teaching along with her love of sharing what she loves to do. She also loves all the wonderful folks she's met and the friendships that have developed over the years. We're looking forward to seeing your WOW presentation Sharon

My Super Exciting news to share today is that the Punch Artist Extraordinaire, Michelle Suit will be presenting at the Northern Virginia Stampin' Up! Style Regional Gathering on March 8, 2014. Michelle was born and raised in Fredericksburg, VA and now join us from Manassas, VA. She has been a demonstrator for 4 years and during that time she has gained quite a following on her blog www.DisneySuitsMe.blogspot.com where she WOWS us with her amazing creations and especially her punch art including Disney Princesses as well as home grown creatures of all sorts. Her current favorite products are all the new punches and framelits. She says she does the '"Stampin' Happy Dance" when new punches and framelits are released because she loves using these things in new and innovative ways (ways they may not have been designed for), and honestly we love it when she does that too! She loves to take a punch and 'see' something just come to life in front of her. Most of all she loves being able to share her love of punches with other paper crafters and to see the look on their faces when they get that 'ah-ha' moment after they get a glimpse of all the possibilities they can create with products they already own. Michelle last presented at the Stampin' Up! Baltimore Regional in April 2013 and was also a Display Stamper for them at a prior Annual Convention in Salt Lake City (ask her about the amazing chocolate cake she made out of paper!!). Keep your eyes open for big news about Michelle. She has dreams to be on the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team and I'm betting she'll achieve those dreams.

Rose-Ellen Eastman originally hails from New Rochelle, NY and now lives in Falls Church, VA. After having her first child she left her position at ABC News in Washington DC to be a stay at home mom.  She became a demonstrator in early 2007, went to her first convention that July and has been to every Convention, every Leadership Conference she was eligible for and every Regional Conference in her area.  Rose-Ellen loves all paper crafting but is really a card maker at heart and she loves Clean and Simple stamping. That leads us to her favorite product; the Big Shot and all the accessories especially embossing folders, and framelits. She loves them because they help to give a card an exquisite look while keeping them simple to make. Rose-Ellen loves to 'share what she loves' and is an experienced presenter with Stampin' Up! In the past she has presented a WOW demonstration for the Hispanic Night Event at our Annual Convention in Salt Lake City, UT, a presentation on Reaching into Your Community at the Share Fair at the Leadership conference in Orlando, FL, presented a live webinar with Q&A session, and most recently did a presentation on the clear blocks at the Baltimore Regional Conference last April. She wants to thank her husband & four daughters for all their support, which is how she is able to have events like these. When she isn't with her family you can find her right here or at www.facebook.com/StampinUpWithRoseEllen

Northern Virginia Stampin' Up! Style Regional Event on 3/8/14 - Freckles Mobile Dessert Diner will be joining us!

Hello there my Stamping Friends!

We’re getting another special treat at the Northern Virginia Stampin' Up! Style Regional Event, and by treat, I REALLY mean treat. I've heard Stampin' Up! co-founder Shelli mention her favorite cupcake place at different events I've attended so..... For our dessert after lunch, we are going to have a CUPCAKE BAR provided by local baker Karina from Freckles' Mobile Dessert Diner. Freckles makes the most delicious cupcakes I’ve ever tasted and I’m very excited to share them with you. Since we couldn’t decide on which cupcakes everyone would like for dessert, we decided to go ahead and have a full CUPCAKE BAR. This means that you can have your choice from several flavors of mini cupcakes that she brings, and you get to pick which frosting you want to try and then you get to pick a topping too. Have you ever had chocolate ganache and caramel drizzle on a whipcream frosted chocolate cupcake? Or how about a lemon curd filled vanilla cupcake with lemon icing on top? Or do you like vanilla icing on a vanilla cupcake? She can do that too. I can’t wait for you to try them because I think they are all so stinkin’ delicious!! to find out more about Freckles, visit www.facebook.com/FrecklesDessertDiner
