Creative Blog Hop - St. Patrick's Day Pot O'Gold using Stampin' Up! Treat Cups for #MyStampingFriends

Hey there My Stamping Friends and welcome to my first blog hop.

I was invited by the very talented Dianne Sisneros at Stamp With Bee, to participate in this hop and I am so excited. I apologize for being late with my post. It’s been a crazy town around here and this Friday I was sitting in the hospital with my daughter that just had an interval appendectomy, so I spent the weekend hovering ….I mean, watching over her. Now I have a few moments to finally post the project I made with this Blog Hop in mind.

For this blog hop I will post something creative I made, I will answer 4 questions about myself and to keep the blog hop going I will introduce two bloggers that you can go check out.

We’ll start with the creative part of the hop. For today’s post I was looking ahead and decided to make a St. Patrick’s Day Pot O’ Gold. Funny story is that when my flight to the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference in Orlando, FL got cancelled, I called the airline to get on to a new flight and sat on hold for three hours, and boy was I productive!!

One of them I filled with chocolate coins and the other I filled with rainbow gummy candies – Yummy.

I used the Labels Collection Framelits to make the front and back of the pot and trimmed a bit off the ‘bottom’ to make it flat. I used a circle punch to make a spot for the treat cup to go. I also used the Gold Foil Sheet paper for my gold coins and I popped some up with dimensionals to give them a little depth.

I love, love, love the treat cups from Stampin’ Up! but to be completely honest, I was always a little bothered that someone had to destroy such a pretty creation in order to get the goodies out of the treat cup so I made this one so its REUSABLE.

Do you think this is as Uh-May-Zing as I do?? Just pull the slider up and you can get the candy out without destroying anything. And you could even refill it and re-gift if you wanted too (not that you’d want to give this little beauty away). This could lead to some pretty cool project ideas. Just Uh-May-Zing, right?

And now we can move on to the 4 questions that the blog hoppers need to answer:

What are you working on?
Silly, I’m typing a blog post about my St. Patrick’s Day Pot O’Gold.  OK, seriously, I’m working on a few last minute details on projects for my Stamp Club meeting and I’m working on designing cards for my Coffee, Conversation and Cards class this Friday.

How does your work differ from others in your genre?
Personally, I think I’m a clean and simple stamper. I make projects that are simple, duplicatable and not overwhelming for my new stamping friends. I do like the other styles such as vintage or the more modern stamping styles, and some people with their punch art or their detailed coloring just knock my socks off, but I’m a clean line, colorful, simple stamper at heart.

Why do you create what you do?
Stamping is my therapy. It’s my get-a-way where I can relax and create to make people happy. I love to make a card or 3D item with a certain person or group of people in mind and I want them to know that they are special and I spent time making something just for them. That makes me feel happy.

How does your creative process work?
Well, that’s a harder thing to explain. Sometimes it starts with a reason to stamp like an upcoming birthday,  a holiday, a class I’m preparing for and other times it comes from me seeing a great stamp set and I can ‘see’ how I want to use that stamp set while other times I’m inspired by a great color combination that makes me want to go duplicate it with paper. Sometimes I create my own projects from scratch, sometimes I CASE and sometimes I get inspired by others so it’s a mixture of them and me. That’s probably the same way so many other paper crafters create as well.

Finally, I get to introduce the two bloggers for you to go check out. The first one is Michelle at Suitably Stamped and the second is Elizabeth from Crafts By Happy Stamper.  On Monday, February 23rd, the bloggers that I just mentioned will post a creation on their blog, answer the same 4 questions about themselves and they will also each introduce two new bloggers. Make sure to visit their blogs and check out their Creative Blog Hop posts as well as all the other cool things they have on there.
