Lotus Blossom Color Options #SAB2015 from Stampin' Up! #SABProductOfTheWeek

Saturday, January 17, 2015

Good Morning My Stamping Friends, I hope you're having a fantastic day so far. I know I am. I'm sitting in the car with the ah-MAY-zing Michelle Suit and we are heading to have a Stampin' Adventure at Connie Heisey's team meeting in Hanover, PA! WAHOO!!

Before I spend my whole day lost in a stampin' wonderland I wanted to share something with you all. The other day I pulled out my Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Lotus Blossom (edited to add that Lotus Blossom is now the #SABProductOfTheWeek) and immediately fell in love. There are so many different color options you can make with this three-step flower. Originally I had intended to make a set of note cards with different color flowers but quickly got overwhelmed with all the color combination possibilities. Sooooo, I sat down and tried a few out and came up with this little beauty.

First I should explain how I stamped these flowers. The first stamp I used is the smallest part of the petals (let's call that #1 since that's how it's labeled by Stampin' Up!) then I lined up the medium petal stamp (let's call that #2) and finally I stamped the largest flower petal image (stamp #3). If you want to know why it's so easy to line up and make such a beautiful flower, the trick is the 'tab'. Each stamp has a tab in the same place and all you need to do is make sure you have the tab facing the same direction while you are stamping. And you can make a beautiful flower with just two colors of ink! Just stamp one color in full strength and one with second generation, which means stamp a second time without re-inking the image and you'll get a lighter image than the first one.
